Why I *Quit* INSANITY Workout on Day 31

Sooo as I started to Calculate my goals and figuring out what would be the absolute best way for me to Reach My Goal of 150 before My Birthday on March 28 (I’ll be the BIG 4-0!) I really had to re-evaluate if Insanity was the RIGHT WORKOUT for RIGHT now for what I wanted to accomplish….
First of All Let me tell you that I absolutely LOVED Month One of Insanity.
I felt it was a totally awesome workout and I always have heard that if you want to blast alot of fat that Cardio is the Answer.
But here is the thing…
I was at 194 when I started Insanity (Gained a few pounds over the Christmas/New Years Holidays) and I am on a serious time crunch to Reach My Goal of hitting 150 by My 40th Birthday At the End of March.
It was Decision Time
Month one of Insanity Was No Joke! Lots of Cardio Conditioning for sure but I didn’t see alot of movement on the scale.
Why?
Cuz I still didn’t fully commit to changing my eating habits until a Friend of mine recommended that I watch the Movie Fathead by Tom Noughton.
Wow, After I watched that Movie, My Mind completely Changed regarding how I was approaching my ‘Diet’.
And it also affected my viewpoint on what kind of workout I should be doing to reach my Urgent, Short Term Goal.
After weighing out the options I cane to the conclusion that if I wanted to achieve the most RAPID FAT LOSS POSSIBLE then I had to change a few things.
#1 – I had to Drastically reduce my carb intake, cut out sugar and Lower my Calories.
#2- I had to focus on Building Muscle, Lifting weights (so that I could put on more muscle mass to help me burn fat faster) and since I am not training for any upcoming events like a Marathon or a sport, Based on the GOALS I wanted to achieve, in the short period of time that I want to achieve them… I had to Switch Gears Temporarily and Go Back to Doing P90X because P90X is designed to help you LEAN OUT while you BUILD MUSCLE which is exactly what I want to do.
Insanity provides incredible results but right now, for the goals I want to achieve, Cardio Conditioning is not on the forefront of the priority list. But don’t worry Shaun T, I will be doing Insanity Again After I achieve My Goal weight and I believe that once I reduce my bodyfat by building more muscle, I will be able to reap more benefits from the Insanity Workout Program.

So as you see, I didn’t Actually QUIT as much as I just had to switch Gears to Achieve my Goals.
Sometimes in life we come to a fork in the road and need to make a decision.
Is taking this particular path going to get me to where I need to go right now? Or am I better off switching gears and recalibrating my plan.
If my Hunch is correct, I will lose more Fat by lowering my Calories, Upping my protein and lowering my Carbs and doing Slow but Steady and Heavy Resistance.
We shall see on March 17th!
