A "New" *Serenity Prayer* For Entrepreneurs
It never fails, for me atleast. I’m an UBER Creative person…
Sometimes, it can take any small thing, to distract me from what I’m doing…
(uh, lets see, Boy #1, Boy #2 and Boy #3…phone calls…hubby…laundry…leads…duds…life….)
Yes, I admit it, I have had to deal with “Focus” issues…
Raise your Hand if you have too!
Come on Now, Admit it!
So I’ve done a few things to deal with this issue, that has been recurring in my life for sometime now…
1. I registered for an “online” School that sets out a WEEKLY Plan, with Step By Step Actions to take, an Agenda, Personal Development Tools and Training, in all areas including Health, Organizational, Network Marketing, Mindset, and Finances, just to name a few. You can check it out here if you find yourself in the same predicament.
2. I have really had to become “in tune” to how I FEEL when I’m doing certain things..What do I feel most passionate about doing… How do I feel when I’m doing certain tasks, which things am I more drawn too…where I can literally lose track of time doing it because I’m so in “the zone”….
(For Me personally, some of these things are: Teaching people, web design, speaking to the “right” prospect, helping out one of my team members”)
3. And then once Zoned into what you really feel great at doing…how can you build your business around doing THAT….
It may be Teaching…maybe you’re great on the phone and love to speak to propsects, maybe you’re a video geek, and that’s your strength so you can pump out videos like no tomorrow…
Whatever the case may be…
It takes alot of FOCUS, Determination, and Discipline to achieve what you really want….
That is..
As long as you Know what that is…
And here’s a tip…
From personal experience…
If you didn’t do well in a certain thing you THOUGHT you were going to enjoy, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a failure, it just may mean that that particular thing, is just NOT for you..but you’re getting pretty darn close, so keep moving forward until you find it!
I’ll leave you with one last thing…
I was reading a really cool blog this afternoon about Multiple Streams of Income and the author at the end, states :
“Circumstances change. Priorities change. And change is cheap if you make it that way. Agility and flexibility are a couple of the great advantages entrepreneurs have over larger organizations. Many opportunities come up that are time-sensitive, and if you’re locked into an artificially rigid schedule, you’ll miss them. The trick is to know the difference between a time-sensitive opportunity and a mere distraction.
Perhaps we need a new serenity prayer for entrepreneurs: “Grant me the serenity to say no to the requests that are mere distractions, the courage to act on the ones that are truly opportunities, and the wisdom to the know the difference.”
I thought that was pretty funny, and cool, and appropriate!
