It started about a year ago. Actually, longer than that. Lets’ go back to when I was living in a 800 square foot apartment, with a 2 year old, and pregnant with my 2nd son. We were struggling, living pay check to paycheck. And there was still a part of me, that just couldn’t understand why?

Why is it that someone who was so “BIG” in my own head, so talented, with proven results, by means of 2 full tuition scholarships to two different universities of her choice, being tested gifted twice in grade school, and always being the “best employee” wherever I went to work.

Why had I ended up living a life where I was just getting by.

Little did I know it was through my own creation…

Fast Forward about 5 years, in a better home, in a nicer location, and in a much better place. Child 3 on the way. A Little Movie Called the “Secret” Came out, and inspired me, and gave me some insight into why I was having mixed results in my life.

Before that movie, I was the girl who was reading “US” magazine, and watching Reality TV in all my spare time, I laugh now thinking about it, what else could I create in my life, based on what I was focusing my attention on.

So there began my journey through personal development, at 35 years old.

I started reading books, which stirred up a hunger inside me to learn more and more.

I then invested a whopping $2000 on a Briefcase whose contents were based on the “Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles, created by 3 of the Teachers of the Secret.

It is there where my curiosity  about Network Marketing began. The Briefcase had an affiliate program attached to it, so I figured, I’ll grow and earn some money along the way.

It started with the SGR program, then I started reading more books, T. Harv Eker, Brian Tracy, Joel Osteen. And with each and every book, I discovered more and more about myself.

What an Awakening!

In the meantime, I was building my Network Marketing business, with little success.

Ok, I was having a heck of alot of trouble, but in my core I wanted to make it work!

So, I sought mentors to teach me whatever they knew, so I could shave off years to my learning curve. Before that, I had like ZERO Network Marketing experience.

I started buying marketing books, and tapes and CD’s.

The Growth I experienced was nothing short of amazing, in only a short year, as I am now 36.

What I discovered in only a year, takes most people a lifetime, if they ever discover it at all.

Meanwhile, I felt like I was still missing something, and it was Structure.

I had so many concepts, but just didn’t quite know how to put them all together.

I was thinking and thinking, (creating) some sort of step by step, 1-2-3, follow these instructions…in a structured, positive, highly motivating environment.

And then it lead me to start clicking…

Click, click, click.. on my mouse..

And I bumped into my now, Upline, Tracey Walker.

I watched a couple of her videos and followed her links, and it led me straight to Success University.

Even the name Embodied exactly what I was searching for.

Who really knew the “Power” of a Good Co-op.

First things first, what IS a CO-OP?

A Co-op is another Marketing Strategy, whereby team members opt-in and “pool” their money into a Marketing Fund that way they all share the cost of advertising while distributing the leads evenly that come in.

You get everyone on a special URL Rotator service, paired with the right AD in the Right Location, and boom, the Leads start pouring in…

I was laughing with delight, because at one point of the day, they started coming in much like contractions, about 7-10 minutes apart!

In less than 2 hours, I accumulated 26 Leads and 3 personally enrolled students in my primary business.

Another lesson should be learned here.

Before trying a CO-op, I was hell bent on just doing Web 2.0. I was resisting trying other methods to bring leads into my business. Although Web 2.0 has also brought me much Blessed Success, it’s always great to try something New. You just never know! Personally, joining a Co-op is  new to me, and if it’s new to you, I would also do my homework.

Here are some things you’ll want to consider before plunking your money into a Co-Op.

1. Does the Place where your team is placing the ad have PROVEN RESULTS?

2. Do you “Trust” Your Team leader with your Advertising Funds?

3. Are you sure that the Leads ARE indeed being distributed evenly?

In our case, we used an automated URL Rotator to ensure that everyone on the Team got equal distribution to their Website.

Because we all put our Faith, and money, put it all together, and worked as a team, and took Action, I had another Successful day in my Network Marketing Business.

Listen, the fact remains, that of course we want to make Money in Network Marketing. We want more freedom, we want to enjoy lifestyle, more time to spend with our families… of course, that is the obvious, and for some, is even hard to articulate because they believe that they just need the money, but if you delve a little further into WHY people want to do well in Network Marketing, the reasons above apply.

I’d ask you,  however, to take inventory of your “intentions”.

Believe it or not, everything, including our intentions, are energy.

Seriously, think about this. You can feel someone’s intentions, and your intentions can be perceived by others.

Some marketers don’t even do it in a round-a-bout way, they just flat out want to recruit you!

So what can you do to alter the perception of your intention in your propsects eyes, so that they don’t feel they just have one big fat dollar sign on their head and you are after it.

What ARE Your intentions?

Network Marketing is a “TEAM” Sport. And you must lead with the intention of growing your team by adding VALUE to the market place.

Right now, think about your Marketing efforts.

Are you providing any value in your Marketing at all?

If you are just trying to “get people” you are more than likely turning them off!

So what CAN  you do to provide Value to the Market place and become more Appealing as a Leader?

This may sound silly, but when I was a child, I remember my parents saying, “Sharing, is caring”

So if you have found success doing a certain something, using a strategy, or if there is a cool little tip or trick that you found that will help others, Share it!

Make a Video.

Write an Article.

Create an informative post that will help others.

Give people something that they can apply right away, that will make a difference in their business.

Do you know that the fastest way to riches, is to “show” people how to do it?

Don’t try to keep all your prized information to yourself.

I’ve seen a bunch of marketers personally, that will write and write about how much money they make, what they have, and write from a “ME ME ME” place, which is ego-centrical, and provides NO Value to the Marketplace.

When in reality, aren’t you drawn more to the person who shares freely and whose tips actually help you?

Believe it or not, if you can give away some of your BEST Stuff, people will actually be more drawn to you, and want to affiliate themselves with you.

So lead with the intention of helping others also gain success, instead of just thinking of your own personal wallet…

I remember there once was a time when html and even copying and pasting was totally foreign to me. And anything technical would take my brain into a tailspin.

And now, in Network Marketing, if you are using the internet especially, you’ve GOT to get with the program and develop some technical skills. I haven’t really seen anyone in our industry tackle these issues, because I have personally found that it’s these little technical nuissances that keep otherwise, determined, and motivated people, stops them dead in their tracks.

So welcome to the Techie Corner, a place in my blog where you can find some cool shortcuts, technical tips and tricks and maybe a piece of software or two that make my life easier! And now I will share them with you!

Tip #1

Shortcuts For Copying and Pasting:

Instead of Right clicking your mouse for the menu to come up on your screen simply do this:

Copy = (Control + C) - First highlight whatever you want to copy, then, Hold down the control key with your pinky and then press C with your pointer finger

Cut = (Control + X) - First highlight whatever you want to copy, then, Hold down the control key with your pinky and then press X with your pointer finger.

Paste = (Control + V) - First highlight whatever you want to copy, then, Hold down the control key with your pinky and then press V with your pointer finger.

Tip #2 

Practicing HTML

Ok, so if you’re using Social Media to promote yourself and business on the Web, you’ve more than certainly come across the word “widget”. Widgets are little “thiggamajiggies” that with the proper html code, can be placed on sites that support html to serve different functions. For example, if you are a TWITTER user twitter has a cool little widget you can place on your blogs or other remote locations such as myspace, or squidoo, for example…that will display your latest TWEETS as soon as you post them to twitter. But in order to do this, you’ll need to copy and paste the html Manually to the remote locations.

But you want to make sure it looks right before you go through the trouble of updating your Myspace profile or logging into your blog!

So let’s Use our New Shortcuts to practice placing a Widget in a Remote Location…

So Go ahead and follow the Instructions in the Diagrams provided!

So First go to: http://www.twitter.com/badges

Step 1.

Step 2.

Pick the Type of Badge You would Like To appear in your Remote Location (i.e. My Space, Blog, etc)

Step 3. Choose your Preferred Badge Color and then Copy the HTML Code Provided.

Once you Copy the Code (Look at the above Short Cut Tips to Easily Cut, Copy and/or paste!

Step 4. Go to http://www.practiceboard.com to paste the HTML for the Twitter Widget to make sure it will appear correctly once you paste it on the Remote Site!

Step 5. Paste the Html into the Empty Box and click on “See html”

Step 6. Voila! It works! Now your Widget is ready to be Copy and Pasted to any Remote Location!

If you watched Episode 2 of “the 5 Minute Marketing Makeover”..

Here’s where you’ll find my Personal Review of The Funded Proposals I’ve tested so far.

Mike Dillards Magnetic Sponsoring 

Pros:

1. Great Capture Page

2. Great Back office - Lets you keep track of your commissions, leads, download banners and promotional links, etc.

3. Very Clean Cut. Easy to understand system. Home Delivered Products, Tangible Books and CD’s. Good Forced Continuity, meaning, each product naturally creates the desire to upgrade to the NEXT Product in the Funnel System.

4. Great content - Touches on Leadership, what it takes to build a big organization and Mike goes pretty deep in traffic building. Which is GREAT… His marketing funnel starts with Building on a Budget  then flows to Magnetic Sponsoring

Then that Flows to  the MLM Traffic Formula and if you want to learn how two big Internet Guys Sponsored 1732 Distributors in less than 31 days, then you can download the MLM A Bomb Call.

And he Recently added Black Belt Recruiting which is my personal favorite, because if you are new and are a little shaky about speaking to prospects on the phone…this course will definitely help you with that.

Ok, now the.,,,

CONS:

1. Focus is on Mike Dillard (No real opportunity to BRAND YOURSELF)

2. Lead Capture page is connected to Mikes Autoresponder System, you do not control the leads.. the only way to communicate with your leads is to export them, and manually place them in your own autoresponder.

3. Commission payout - is pretty generous but you only get paid once a month. But if you accumulate enough prospects that purchase the courses, then you’ll make a nice extra stream of income to pay for your advertising.

In my opinion, Mike Dillards Funded proposal is really great for the person who wants to LEARN and APPLY what Mike Teaches, and makes a niceextra  income stream to offset the costs of advertising. Definitely can Add to anything you are already doing!

Daegan Smith’s - Power Prospecting System

Pros.

The Very First thing that drew me in to this particular funded proposal was the Video on the lead capture page. Boy did it really touch on the frustrations of the MLM industry. I also love that Daegan is a really down to earth guy, who is really genuinely interested in revealing the tactics he used to generate all the Free leads and Traffic anyone could ever want for their MLM business.

Another Thing that Drew me in was that The Lead Capture page is GENERIC and once you sign up with his Funded Proposal System, You can upload your OWN photo and contact information, and the page looks like it’s yours. He really puts an emphasis on his Affiliates being able to BRAND THEMSELVES. Kudos on that!

He also offers a FREE CD so that if you want to catch his “vibe” first, you can do so by listening to one of his presentations (only have to pay shipping and handling) before you commit to anything. 

He has two Intro products, one is a $37 E=Book and the other, which I personally own, is a $97.00 ebook and it has literally, STEP BY STEP BY STEP of HOW to instructions. No Concepts. Real, honest to goodness…Sit at your computer, with the $97 e-book, and just follow the step by step instructions. Using his system, My Upline in “Success University” already has placed 8 people in her downline in only 30 days, and I’ve already placed 3 and I haven’t even started promoting it aggressively.

Then the Power Prospecting System also has a very compreshensive Back office, with more training, Videos, Audios and a built-in Ad=Tracking Console. Trust me, this is a great tool to have.. If  you have never really tracked your advertising efforts, you should, and this system enables you to do this.

You can also E-mail all your prospects with a email Broadcasting feature, which I thought was really neat, and as for the icing on the cake, when the emails go out from the Power prospecting System (when a lead has signed up for information) Your Links, as well as links to YOUR Website, Name and Phone Number are included in the E-Mails.

Again, There is a Major Emphasis on Branding Yourself. Super Important for a Network Marketer.

2. Commissions: The Commissions are pretty Generous for the products in The Power Prospecting system, but one of the coolest features, is that if someone joins the system, and pays the monthly membership, you receive a residual monthly income from anyone who signs up to use the system that is under you.

Definitely, Residual income is always an attractive feature to any online tools or service.

Most programs earn residuals for the company, but the PPS system has a built in Residual income stream for it’s affiliates. - Super Kudos on that.

Cons

The Cons about the system is that you do have to export your leads to your own autoresponder if you prefer to communicate with them independent of the PPS system.

2. You get paid once a month when anyone purchases any of the Marketing Products.

Overall, the Power Prospecting system provides a pretty seamless transition from Marketing Funnel, to promoting your primary business, by placing a strong emphasis on the Network Marketer branding themselves

I conclusion, I do like aspects of both of these Funded proposal systems. Mike Dillards is very educational…and pays handsome commissions, and the Power Prospecting system is VERY Automated and seamless as it points and backends your primary business, I really love that about the Power Prospecting system.

If I had to choose between which I would use to ultimately back end my primary MLM, hands Down, PPS wins with me.

If you’re thinking about getting into getting into network marketing, just to make some great money…think again!

Making the Decision to go into Business, which is what Network Marketing is, is nothing to sneeze at.

It takes time, work, dedication, discipline and Money.

Is success available to everyone that tries it? Absolutely..

But not everyone will find it easy, and it’s more challenging than you think.

Here are 5 Discoveries I have personally made in Network Marketing and will share them with you!

1. Network Marketing is a “Relationship” Business. There are no two ways about it. It’s consists of groups of individuals coming together towards the same purpose, to achieve similar goals, Financial Freedom for all, being one of them. If you are a person who has difficulties building relationships with people, or are more of a “loner” type, you have two options when it comes to Network Marketing.  I’ll reveal the one that worked for me. Before we are business people, we are people! With different backgrounds, upbringings, and cultures. When I was growing up, I grew up in a family where we were not very close. So maintaning relationships for me has, at times, been a little challenging. I absolutely LOVE people, and love to help them, but at some point, I felt myself becoming distant and aloof. Which is no surprise, as it was the “theme” as a kid. So what did I do? I continued with Personal Development, educating myself, reading books and understanding that it was simply something I could take control of and change. Suffice it to say, I am steadily building a healthy downline in one of my businesses, and have created stellar relationships in my primary business.  So consider, if you have ever “struggled” or “failed” in MLM before, something as simple as this same scenario could be what’s holding you back!

2. Network Marketing is for Leaders. Let’s face it, in network marketing, or mult-level, the bottom line is that you want to build an organization in order to leverage your time and efforts. Imagine personally signing up 10 people and then all those 10 signing up 10 and continuing that duplication down to infinity, without YOU even have to really try…that’s awesome! But guess what…in order to attract that kind of a downline, you must stand up to leadership. And what exactly is leadership? Well mainly, the ability to Influence others, and then inspire them and empower them to succeed. And Leaders possess qualities, or better said, develop them, that “bench warmers” never attempt to acquire.

Here are just Some of the Qualities of a Great Leader:

1. The Leader must have a dream larger than those he/she leads.
2. The Leader must have an attitude superior to those he/she leads.
3. The Leader is responsible and admits when he/she has made a mistake.
4. The Leader is a decision maker.
5. The Leader puts those he/she leads first.
6. The Leader sets the example by being in the front of the pack.
7. The Leader displays a commitment to integrity and character.
8. The Leader strives for excellence in all things.
9. The Leader displays a commitment to personal growth.
10. The Leader has the highest level of persistence and determination.
Do you posess any of these qualities? And if so…How Strong are they??

3. Your Network Marketing venture is an Actual BUSINESS. A great deal of people get into network marketing and then end up treating it more like a hobby, instead of a business. Think about it, the shop owner who owns a brick and mortar store, has a daily method of operation in order to run his shop. Running a network marketing business is no different. You need to have a game plan, some sort of methodology, to accomplish the daily tasks to grow your business.

4. Discipline & Action are Key. Hands down, you must have these two in place in order to get results. You must be self motivated, committed, and take massive action. One of the beauties of network marketing, however, is that if you are aligned with a great Team, you have the advantage of a “built-in” Mastermind! You have the support, ideas, and energy of other like-minded individuals to feed off of. And that is such an empowering benefit to being in Network Marketing. You are surrounded by people who want nothing more than to see you Succeed, because your success rolls right back up!

5. Money. You’ve heard it a million times, “you gotta have money, to make money” and yes, that is certainly true. Without Cashflow, any business will find itself facing inevitable Doom. If  you have no money for some advertising or training, or for purchasing tools…you may consider applying for a job. Seriously, many people get in thinking that they will build millions with $50.00. And that is not the right mindset to have. You can’t go in to network marketing thinking “how Fast” Can I make money, you’ve got to think more like, “how much money can I ultimately make”.  The 2nd perspective is more “Big Picture” than the first which is, “quick, pay me now!” It goes back up to “Building Relationships” and that takes time. Of course, there are quicker ways to build a healthy downline, and you can place over 400 Reps in a realistc 60 days or less, if you use the “right system” to make that happen.
With the Right attitiude, the right information, and for the right reasons, anyone who truly desires to be succesful in network marketing, absolutely can. If you begin with personal development and the right system, you can build a huge downline faster than you ever imagined!

Twitter is for staying in touch and keeping up with friends no matter where you are or what you’re doing. For some friends you might want instant mobile updates—for others, you can just check the web. Invite your friends to Twitter and decide how connected you want you to be.

How does Twitter work?

When you send in a mobile text (SMS), Twitter sends it out to your group of friends and posts it to your Twitter page. Your friends might not have phone alerts turned on so they may check your web page instead. Likewise, you receive your friends mobile updates on your phone.

How much does it cost?

Twitter is a free service. At some point they may introduce optional, for-pay features or services but basic usage will remain free. Note: with phone alerts turned on, Twitter makes use of texting or SMS so check with your mobile provider to find out if this will cost you extra.

How Does Twitter help me Get Free Traffic and Targeted Leads?

First and foremost, you have to keep in mind, that like any other Social Media Platform, the intention is to be “Social”. I’ve met some of the coolest people on Twitter, including Alejandro Reyes of Successfool.com (Look forward to a Recorded Audio Interview with Alejandro Reyes very soon!)

In Networking, making Connections and building relationships is KEY!

I always make it a point to start conversations with people (you can do this using the @ symbol) using Direct Messages, and also finding people who have common interests as you do and start following them!

It’s a Reciprocating community, so usually, when you follow someone, they’ll end up following you…

Now you just have to be interesting enough so that people keep up with your updates!

This totally beats having to go to the website and scroll for pages on end to see if anyone has tried to strike up a conversation with you. and with the Cool Scrolling feature of the Ipod Touch and Iphone, finding your friendliest buddies is really a cinch!

I’m not a big TV Watcher, but I do like to catch Episodes of “What not to Wear” on Friday nights on TLC Stacey London and Clinton Kelly just Crack Me up.

The TV Show centers around making average poorly dressed women, who usually have low self confidence, or low self esteem, and don’t really take the time to put any effort into themselves, and turning them into their BEST possible self ever.

They give them slamming new designer wardrobes, the latest in modern hairstyles, and then brighten them up with gorgeous make-up. And at the end of the day, each and every lady learns the same lesson….

After their, Makeover, they reflected on the outside, who they truly were on the inside.

Brilliant, Vibrant, Positive life Forces, now properly reflected through their image.

Well what does this have to do with Success?

The one thing all the ladies had in common was that they vehemently resisted “change”.

As a matter of fact, when Stacey London or Clinton Kelley would ask the women why they held on to their “favorite” unattractive outfits, they would all say it was because of the “C” word…..they were Comfortable.

Well, the truth of the matter is is that if you do want to take your life, business, self, to the NEXT LEVEL, you MUST be willing to step outside of your comfort Zone.

It’s much easier to just throw on a pair of jogging pants, and flip flops to go to the grocery store, it’s much easier to sit in front of the couch eating potato chips and watching a movie, it’s much easier to make an excuse NOT to do something…. but all those things don’t really get you anywhere, and no Best Selling Book was ever written about a couch potato!

In my personal experience, I knew I would have to be “uncomfortable” in order to get anywhere. If I wasn’t uncomfortable, I wasn’t doing enough!

A few months ago, I had made a commitment to fly to New Jersey for a weekend Seminar.

I had two major problems..

I had a Fear of Flying, and I’d never left my Family (Husband and 3 Children) before, ever…

I’m really excited.

On so many levels.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was sick, well, it lasted almost 2 weeks. And I had kind of fallen out of the loop for a bit. It was a blessing in disguise though because it gave me lots of time to think and really take inventory of what I was doing, and where I wanted to go.

I had such an incredible response from my “5 Minute Marketing Makeover” Show, it was humbling.

And it just rolled into something bigger than I had ever imagined.

I was Struggling…big time…
